The adventure trip you can’t buy — four days packed with adventure with innovators that are nearly impossible to meet.
I was the connector and exploration consultant on this incredible four day journey. I got to introduce two of my very favorite things: sea & space exploration to about 60 very high net-worth folks.
I can’t express how great it was to take this distinguished group to meet my friends at SCRIPPS, Mojave Air and Space Port and Space X and to see their eyes light up while learning about all the new innovations that enable exploration.
The trip started with a dinner hosted by Paul Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm and we kicked off the adventure at SCRIPPS Institution of Oceanography with a tour of FLIP (the coolest oceanographic research vessel in the world) and their cutting-edge underwater robotics and ocean exploration technologies. World-renowned oceanographers, Sylvia Earle and Dave Gallo co-hosted the day. One of today’s most brilliant scientists, Dr. J. Craig Venter, CEO of Synthetic Genomics gave us a tour of his greenhouse labs. He’s building the future of fuels and food with synthetic biology.
Hopefully, they’ll catch the exploration bug and help spread the love.
We experienced weightlessness by chartering two VIP Zero-G Flights which each flew a total of 15, 30-second parabolas giving our participants ~7 minutes of weightlessness. If you haven’t flown in Zero-G yet, do it. Now.
We flew 5 private jets directly to the Mojave Air & Spaceport. We toured the most innovative rocket companies in the world: Masten Aerospace, XCOR Aerospace, Scaled Composites where SpaceShipOne was built, and George Whitesides, CEO of Virgin Galactic, gave us a tour of their factory.
We visited Paul Allen’s Strato-Launcher facility. Private Astronaut-Pilot Brian Binnie who flew SpaceShipOne on its winning $10M Ansari X PRIZE Flight joined us at lunch.
We jetted back to LA for an evening private screening at FOX Films, hosted by FOX Chairman & CEO, Jim Gianopulos.
Our trip ended too soon with a tour of SpaceX with Elon Musk. They say the the first trillionaire will be created in space. I believe a few of these business leaders think so too.
